BIO
Mala Sarkar Sehgal, born in India, holds a master’s degree in Visual Communication and Graphic Design from the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad. Over two decades, she transitioned from visual art in advertising to decorative art, collaborating with Indian artisans to create unique works in materials like glass and metal. After moving to Switzerland in 2002, her style evolved, blending her Indian roots with Swiss influences. Deeply committed to recycling and rescuing old materials, Mala transforms abandoned furniture and discarded objects into expressive art, highlighting their innate textures and stories. Her tactile, earth-inspired creations draw from personal experiences, emotions, and vibrant curiosity, telling compelling stories that resonate deeply, inviting both touch and reflection.
